At Buysse & Partners,
We care

Because we feel it is our duty

We are well aware of the responsibility that comes with asset management. It is our duty to create value for our investment partners and their families. However, we also have a duty to protect what is vulnerable and support the unfortunate in society.

We care about health abroad

Mercy Ships

The International charity Mercy Ships currently operates as the largest non-governmental hospital ship in the world, providing humanitarian aid such as free health care, community development projects, health education, agriculture projects and palliative care for terminally ill patients.

All of its ships are state-of-the-art facilities that offer clean water, reliable electricity and care centres. Since most of the population lives within 100 miles of the coast, Mercy Ships is able to sail a modern hospital ship with a crew of 400 volunteers directly to people who lack access to first-rate medical care.

Mercy Ships performed 92,000 life-saving surgeries since 1978 in more than 57 developing nations and 18 developed nations around the world with a current focus on Africa.

We care about art

Middelheim Museum

In his free time, partner Guy Mertens is actively involved as a member of the executive committee, tapping new resources and encouraging a younger generation to help build a sustainable future for the Middelheim Museum

Middelheim Museum is one of the oldest and most unique open-air museums in Europe offering a fascinating overview of more than 100 years of visual arts in an exceptional setting.

The collection features around 400 works of art, collected over more than 50 years. Works date from around 1900 to the present and provide an excellent international overview of modern and contemporary art with works of major artists such as Auguste Rodin, Ai Weiwei, Rik Wouters, Henry Moore, Juan Nuños, Carl André, Panamarenko, Frans West, Erwin Burm and many others.

For its temporary exhibitions, Middelheim Museum invites solo or group artists from the national and international art scene to present existing works as well as new works especially created for the  museum’s park.

We care about health at home

Kom op tegen kanker

Kom op tegen Kanker’s biennial solidarity campaign is one of the biggest fundraising events in Flanders, creating awareness and support projects around cancer patients.

At the initiative of Johan Buyle, Buysse & Partners is a loyal sponsor for Kom op tegen Kanker since 2015. This support included a fundraising dinner at Kasteel van Brasschaet, including the auctioning of a work of art by Berlinde De Bruyckere and the support of two cycling teams that each collected at least 5000 euros per year.

Ongoing sponsorship  funds are  presently obtained from well-wishers and our portfolio companies.

We care about sustainable change

Eslabonsocial

Ecuador is a country still under construction, where electricity and potable water is not yet the norm. Father Guy Mennen collects funds in Belgium through the non-profit organization Eslabonsocial in order to contribute to Guayaquil’s education, health care and agriculture.

The rainy season only last for 3 months, after 9 months of minimal rainfall. This requires phased work for water collection, distribution, saving and purification, to ensure the farmers are able to bridge the dry period.

Buysse & Partners, together with the Buysse – Van Antwerpen family and Mr. Pablo Campana, is supporting the creation of loam basins for water storage and 7 km of new connections since 2016.
