At Buysse & Partners we take our responsibility for the environment, society and good governance seriously. Our mission extends beyond capital growth alone; it is about creating value and impact for current and future generations. This goal is central to our sustainability strategy. Establishing and implementing this strategy based on the sustainability pillars identified by our stakeholders is a priority for us. 

What is ESG?

ESG stands for environmental, social and governance. This means that we pay attention to environmental issues such as climate change (environmental), social matters such as human rights and working conditions (social), and good governance such as transparency and ethical behaviour (governance). ESG helps us to not only achieve financial returns, but also to make a positive impact on the world around us.

After listening to our stakeholders, we have identified six strategic focus areas that will be prioritized in the coming years as the basis of our ESG strategy:

  • reducing CO2 emissions
  • promoting the use of sustainable materials and improving waste management
  • creating a positive social impact
  • promoting a culture of engagement, diversity and wellbeing
  • ensuring strong business ethics and good governance
  • making supply chains more sustainable

We identified our six strategic focus areas through input from both internal and external stakeholders, guided by European best practices. Subsequently, we developed a comprehensive roadmap, setting clear targets for each sustainability pillar, with distinct priorities, emphases, and timelines tailored to each investment strategy. All with one common goal: to create lasting value and impact for both present and future generations.

Transparency.

At Buysse & Partners we are committed to providing clear and accurate information to our investors. As a Real Estate and Private Equity investment company, we operate under the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR). We qualify as an Article 8 fund for our real estate activities and an Article 6 fund for our private equity activities.

Our aim is to drive the transition to a sustainable economy by supporting our portfolio assets in their efforts to achieve positive environmental and social impact.

Certifications.

We use certifications as an important lever to accelerate our ESG ambitions. We are currently working on a BREEAM certification process to make the more than 60-year-old BP building more sustainable. We will also initiate similar certification processes for our other buildings.
