Frank Buysse (1969) set up Buysse & Partners in August 2008.
By then, Frank had already acquired extensive experience in capital markets, corporate finance, asset management and private equity at a number of financial institutions in San Francisco, New York and Brussels. Frank obtained his master in law degree at RUG and his MBA at Vlerick Leuven.
He is a director of Vivaldi’s Groep and Global Port Training, as well as a member of the advisory board of Bank Degroof.
Guy Mertens (1978) became Frank Buysse’s first partner at Buysse & Partners in April 2009. Guy is a trained legal and tax specialist who has acquired extensive experience in acquisition finance and capital markets in Brussels, London and Hong Kong.
After a period as a treasury and credit control manager, Guy worked as an operations manager at an international logistics firm. Guy is a director of Global Port Training and Bio Pharma Logistics Group.
Dimitri Herbosch (1969) is an attorney with more than 17 years of professional experience.
His practice focused on a wide variety of cross-border corporate transactions, including private equity, M&A and corporate restructuring as well as general corporate and international commercial advice. He also acted as an independent in-house legal counsel for several listed multinational companies.
After obtaining his law degree and pursuing master degrees in Business Law and Corporate Law,he obtained in 2004 an LL.M. degree at Duke University School of Law where he also had the opportunity to enroll in Fuqua MBA classes.
Dimitri joined Buysse & Partners as a partner in 2012 in view of focusing on the international expansion.
Johan Buyle (1967) obtained a master in Applied Economic Sciences at the University of Antwerp and has over 20 years of experience in various aspects of finance and private equity.
He originally started his career in retail- and corporate banking at Generale Bank/Fortis Bank. But as from the nineties he has been involved in transactional operations, as a senior manager Acquisition Finance at Fortis Bank, and during several years as an investment manager at AlpInvest/Taros Capital and at Fortis Private Equity.
Since 2008 Johan is an independent advisor and has been involved in various projects for family owned businesses, investors and corporate finance boutiques. He is a director in a number of companies and is also managing director of Cramo Finance (financing company of the listed Scandinavian multinational Cramo).
Kenneth Depuydt (1981), CFA, obtained his master’s degree in financial management at Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School in 2004.
Kenneth is also a CFA charterholder. After a period in the Electrabel NV trading room, Kenneth acquired experience in capital markets at Fortis Private Equity, for which he held various directorships.
Kenneth gained further experience as a financial manager at a Belgian group.
Michiel Avontuur (1970) obtained his Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at Delft University of Technology, his MBA at INSEAD (2003), and has over 20 years of experience in industry and strategy consulting.
His career encompasses the automotive sector (Nippondenso Japan and General Motors Europe, where he led the supplier development activities for the Benelux, France and Italy), a position with McKinsey & Company with a focus on industrial clients in the Netherlands, Belgium and Scandinavia, and global procurement manager of a private equity portfolio company active in coating resins with a presence in North America, Europe and Asia.
Michiel joined Buysse & Partners in 2017 with a focus on industrial and technology sectors.
Quentin Werrie (1983), obtained his Master in Finance at ICHEC Brussels Management School in 2006, and later pursued his MBA at IE Business School in 2012.
Quentin started his career at BNP Paribas Wealth Management in Geneva as a Credit Analyst, serving the UHNWI client segment. He also gained entrepreneurial experience by launching a Biotech startup focused on sustainable & alternative protein sources for the animal feed industry.
Since 2013, Quentin has been involved in the Real Estate development sector in Belgium.
Laurens Willems (1989) holds a master’s degree in Business Economics from the Catholic University of Leuven and a master’s degree in Financial Management from Vlerick Business School.
Laurens started his professional career at the M&A transaction services team of Deloitte Belgium. He gained international experience while working in Southeast Asia at a boutique consulting firm and later as part of the M&A team of the largest Indonesian cement producer.
Filip Suykerbuyk (1980) started his professional career as a project architect at BULK architects and later as a spatial planner with the Flemish Government’s urban planning agency. After his MBA studies he managed commercial real estate developments for the Brussels Airport Company. Filip joined Buysse & Partners in 2018 with a focus on Smart Assets, Buysse & Partners’ real estate venture.
Filip holds multiple master degrees in architecture, urban planning, real estate and business administration from the universities of Antwerp, Leuven and Ghent, as well as an MBA from ESADE Business School in Barcelona.
Ingrid Baeten (1961) obtained a bachelors degree in Management Assistance and languages and gained more than 20 years of experience in multiple branches, such as finance, consumables, retail and M&A.
She joined the Buysse & Partners team in January 2014 as Office Manager and head of administration.
